The Surrey Police Board met on Friday, January 16^th to review concerns raised in recent media reports alleging improper communications that may have had an impact on public safety. As representatives of the Surrey community, the Board takes the allegations seriously and has begun examining facts and evidence. 

The Surrey Police Board understands that investigations into the same matter by the City of Surrey’s Ethics Commissioner and an independent provincial police oversight agency are also underway. The Board takes an interest in the outcome of these investigations and must ensure the integrity of these processes by allowing them to unfold without interference or further public comment.
